| Subject: "Like a Ray of Hope" (fanfiction) |
I've uploaded the third chapter to my most widely read fanfiction to date. Not sure if I was really ready to do it... I've just been playing through Suiko V again and getting into it, so I worked on adding to what I already had for the third chapter of the fic until I had a decent enough amount to post. I cut the chapter off rather abruptly, because the next scene, which is going to end up being a new chapter, actually, is absolutely critical. Other chapters had that sudden cut, too, though, and I almost think I like it. It's different.

I struggled with the dinner entrances for...well, a long time. I don't like listing things like that: "A entered the room, and sat down; B entered the room, and sat down; C entered the room..." etc. But I really, really wanted to add in descriptions of what the characters were wearing. In the end I cut out what I could, and tried to make it flow. Hopefully it works.
There's a really brilliant Korean drama (won't say the name of it, so it doesn't spoil the plot for anyone) in which a couple fall desperately in love, then the man finds out that they're actually siblings. And he still wants her. He steals her away in the middle of the night, and takes her to a chapel. There's no priest, no witnesses, just the two of them and this incredibly intense passion. He plans to marry her right there, in secret, though he knows she's his sister. And she doesn't know about their relations. It's sinful, wicked. But it's beautiful and really inspiring, so I need to watch the scene again before I go on with this fic. |

I had to rework, reorganize, cut, and rewrite so much of chapter three to finally get it posted, I was kind of afraid I'd have to rewrite the first two chapters, as well. But NO! I made it work. I MADE IT WORK! BWAHAHAHAHA!

Chapter nine is up! I really enjoyed writing this chapter, partly due to the fact that Scott is beginning to comprehend the depth of Jon's feelings for him, but mostly because it's violent! We get to know Jeff a little better, and probably like him a lot less. But this chapter proves that Scott can dish it!
Jeff is one of those characters that you really hate to read, but can't help but love to write. He's a total jerk, through and through, but it's so much fun to create characters like this, because it's so good when they get their just desserts. ^^
I hope you enjoy the chapter. As always, reviews and emails, or feedback of any kind, is greatly appreciated. |

Apparently I didn't mention chapter seven being put up... but anyway, chapter eight is now up, thanks to reviewers reminding me I haven't uploaded all of this fic. ;) Thanks, guys!
Also, dunno if I mentioned, this is a complete work. I just have to upload everything, and you all know I like to stretch it out. ^^;; I'm actually working on a sequel to this story, and have a prequel in mind, as well. Just a little hint of things to come!

As of this minute, I've re-posted the first seven chapters of the story. Plot holes are being sewn up, extras are being added to the ends of chapters, and one or two typos that had until now eluded my attention have been corrected. And hopefully I'll have time to write more soon. Though if I get any more nasty, sarcastic reviews about how often I update, I just might not. >:( |

Chapter three uploaded! Gosh, it's been YEARS since I've updated that story! Yikes. I also went back and edited the first two chapters a little, changing the main character's name. I realized I have way too many Jasons in my stories. I guess I just like that name! haha But it's been changed to "Lee," and I also changed Lee's last name to Crisp. I took the name from the villain of "Kindergarten Cop," one of my favorite movies. ^^ |
